I have been listening on my iPod to this Nada Surf concert for a couple of weeks and I find it refreshing. Nada Surf has a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers feel, but being a trio they are more bare bones. In this concert they were assisted by a guest musician.

If you do not have time to listen to the entire concert, the first three encore numbers might be a good place to sample:

Blizzard of '77

Blonde on Blonde

Always Love

The Kaki King concert on this link is also interesting - often she plays the guitar like it were percussion. I found the other opening act - the Jealous Girlfriends - to be "so so."

This little trio is quite good to listen too. Caws even looks a bit Tom Pettyish. I also liked Katherine's style with the guitar, hammering away at the strings.

I had not heard of Nada Surf, can't believe they had been around and friends with another band I liked at one time "They Might be Giants" not sure what happened to them.

"Jealous Girlfriends" reminded of the band "Renaissance" in a way. Tried to listen to them recently on album but couldn't any longer, thing of the past.

Great music tidbit, thank-you.

Oh John, Eduard is still asleep, so I can't listen now and I'll probably forget about it later on, so I'll take your word for it.

You are very young or very young at heart, yes?

couldn't make your link work for me but found Always Love on You Tube. Sounds a little like some of the indi groups we have here in style and in its directness. I like to hear the young being creative and feeling. Thx for the connection.
