On 53rd Street there used to be a public library branch that was closed down about two years ago due to budget cuts. Its claim to fame was having the old battered original Winnie the Pooh dolls owned by the author of the books - including Pooh and Piglet.
Currently they are gutting the building and they are using scaffolding to protect pedestrians. This creates a cavern of subdued light good for the new Blackberry camera. What they are building here is a mystery.
Below is another picture from Chicago, taken on State Street in the Loop. In the foreground, past the subject, is another scaffold.

Last Sunday at Long Island beach towards sunset - green headed flies attacked me and I turned back. Marie and the kids walked to the beach and saw a large flock of black skimmers. This is Greg who is 15 and who is now taller than me.
You know when you get bit by a green headed fly. Intense second of pain.
I have a new BB and continue to take pics in Penn station and on the subways. Larger file size, better colors but an odd shutter that is not instantaneous. Very loud click also.....
All my best.

My son, Gregory in late August in Manhattan, a BB shot taken in front of a public art space that used to be a New York City Public Library, now closed due to budget cutbacks. It is almost directly across from MoMa, half a block form my office. Marie brought in the family that workday into the City. I recall they went to the Metropolitan Museum and then walked down Fifth Avenue to meet me after work.
I also took portraits of Alex and Mariana and will post here sometime soon.
In January we had a record three feet of snow on Long Island. I miss August.
Most of my BB work now goes to two blackberry blogs, one for Penn Station and one for the New York City subways. If you have time, please visit.

A print screen from a fashion blog I visit. Caroline's blog mixes music, fashion and dashes of kindred sixties sensibilities. It is a breath of fresah air.
I have added new blog for my subway BB's, "Subway Series" - it is here.
I continue to look at rock posters from my youth - here is great website to explore. To think I got rid of a hundred or so posters I collected from store windows as a teenager. Some I had now sell for hundreds of dollars.
