Today is the last day of vacation - two days of work and a three day weekend. It is windy and raining outside. Good day to stay in although my oldest son has a nine AM swim practice.

My first daffodil today. Another will open tomorrow but I am weeks form the true push of Spring. Saint Patrick's Day parade is a week off. A great day in Manhattan, very happy celebration. Much less rowdy than ten years ago, though.

Lisa's house sparrows, morphed. The garbled text is an excerpt fropm a book regarding the Rolling Stones around the time they recorded "Exile on Main Street." A period of debauchery and other excesses.

Lisa's tree is sampled, third generational mutation, though. Manhattan incredibly crowded and Van Gogh sold out, but it was an experience including visit to guitar stores on West 48th Street.

Lots of work and some soccer games. I saw a large falcon fly over the kids' soccer fields yesterday. Think it was a peregrine.

I have seen red tailed hawks, a few accipiters (true hawks)and kestrels while watching soccer. Much of developmental soccer happens the same time as spring and fall bird migrations.

Three MS Paint made excerpts of attempts at large file compositions. These details show snippets of something I would like to execute well as sub part of larger composition.

I see a haunting beauty here - a bit off kilter - sort of like looking at a pre-conservation era butterfly collection, rare lepidoptera pinned in a glass covered side.
