Bellmore Station platform cement - sunny morning waiting for the 8:13 train.

LIIRR platform in Bellmore and the E train BB subject. An August flashback when the days were long enough to see daylight on the return commute. Soon the return of thick winter coats and shades of somber black and browns will abound.

We should never complain about heat and humidity.

These BBs were taken on February 2, the only day I have attempted to go to work this month. The first is on the morning LIRR, the second on the 5th Av. northbound platform and the last two on the southbound 5th Av. platform at night.

I am waiting for test results, but I think I have whooping cough. This is relatively rare in adults, but becoming more common as the bacteria has evolved and vaccines seem to not work after many years. Coughing can last for six weeks.

Ten years ago I went to a good motel and we were attacked by bed bugs, this incident also has become more common. I seem to be a lightning rod for old fashioned calamities.

Interesting symptoms about whooping cough is that it stats out "like a cold" with a fever ands runny nose, then a week later you think you are finally feeling better until you get a two minute bout of uncontrollable coughing that might even make you want to throw up.

We have had a blizzard in NY yesterday. I went on my front step and took a few shots and will post one soon.

Breathe. My regards.

Happy New Year, but I bet you have already heard that somewhere. Here I am up and all others are asleep. I love the peace of the early morning. If only songbirds were singing outside...soon, just months.

Once again BB shots - Wednesday and Thursday commutes on my return to the grind. Marie, Greg, Alex and Mariana came into the city on Wednesday and they went to MoMA to see Tim Burton exhibit. They also walked around midtown and then at night we all had bar-b-que at Virgil's near Times Square. They got to see the ball lit up since they were practicing letting it drop. It was very cold and crowded.

I am posting one photo of Mariana on the LIRR train ride home. The train was crowded so she and I sat apart.

Friday morning was snowing and I took a shot out the window from the railroad car as the train approached Jamaica Station. At Penn there was more security than there were commuters, almost. Later, the subway was very empty - look at the picture of the empty subway car at the height of rush hour. Wise men stayed home.

All my best. Have a great weekend.

Tuesday's commute - Penn Station, subway stairs and nighttime at Bellmore.

I have been listening to the Monkees and to the Young Rascals on my iPod. I remember the delight being a child these last days of the year. Today I will go to Pearl Paint and get Alex some art supplies for Christmas. Possibly some good pencils and a sketch pad.

A gift that I hope he will never outgrow.

"Good lovin'.
Good lovin'.
Good lovin'.

I was feelin' somethin' bad,
I asked my family doctor just what I had,
I said, "Doctor, Doctor,
Mr. M.D., Doctor,
Now can you tell me, tell me, tell me,
What's ailin' me?"
Doctor.

He said, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Yes, indeed, all you really need,
Is good lovin'.
Gimme that good, good lovin.
Good lovin'.
All I need is lovin'.
Good lovin'.
Good lovin', baby.

Baby please, squeeze me tight.
Squeeze me tight.
Now don't you want your baby,
To feel alright? Feel alright.
I said Baby, Baby.
Now it's for sure,
It's for sure.
I got the fever, Baby, Baby,
But you've got the cure.
You've got the cure.

I said, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yes, indeed, all I really need,
Is good lovin'.
Gimme that good, good lovin.
Good lovin',
All I need is lovin',
Good lovin',
Good lovin', baby."

Wishing you all some good lovin'.....my best.

Friday's commute, starting at Penn Station, subway platform on Fifth Avenue, then nighttime at Fifth Avenue, Penn and finally the Long Island Railroad train, almost home.

Good images sometimes come in streaks - part of it is being in a "receptive mental zone," but also the quality of light in some locations impacts the quality of the images. More and more I find it hard to get a good picture on Penn Station south bound subway platform. Neon glare. Been there, done that.

I keep photographing in Penn. Sometimes there is exploration and newer areas and sometimes it feels it is repetitive being already explored areas, such as the staircases leading up to Amtrak. Other areas in Penn have horrid light levels, either too low or very flat such as on the Amtrak level.

I am leaning to going back to doing more quilts. We will see, permissions to use images and all.

Thank you for your visits and your comments. All my best.

Mostly morning Penn, subway and and closing with an image of a passenger near the train door as we approach Bellmore on the LIRR.
