E Train uptown morning commute from last week. Yesterday it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit here on Long Island - brutal July. Friday night we had a tornado watch here, yikes. Nothing happened, praise the Lord and pass the air conditioner. This aint's Kansas.

Woman on the left also rides on my LIRR train and collects the coolest hand bags. Beach blanket bingo.

Peace on earth,

Spain won an ugly World Cup final this past Sunday - there was mastery in the game but it lacked the magic that I saw in the semi-final against Germany. That was glorious.

I feel for the Dutch, I know that soccer comes close behind speed ice skating. My warmest regards to those that were crushed Sunday. I will miss the games of this past summer.....on to Brazil four years from now, four years - where will we be?

My favorite baseball team is the San Francisco giants. They have not won a pennant, the World Series, since 1954.

It remains humid - sultry - in NYC. Better than winter.

A horridly hot humid week here - two shots that are not a pan. In Penn near the subway stairs and on the uptown E Train platform.

I have so many friends that are Dutch, but I feel Spain will win the World Cup Sunday. The Spaniards looked better against Germany than Brazil looked playing North Korea. Incredible ball control and passing.

I would be happy for the Dutch, though. Both countries deserve victory. Germany will likely take third. They are big and fast and score on counter attacks.

Peace on earth, good will to corner kicks.

I saw the second half of today's semi-final game between Spain and Germany and it was a thing of beauty. The final score was 1-0 in Spain's favor, but the beauty of soccer is in individual plays - the inherent grace of a perfectly executed pass and the elegance of creative yet subtle tactics. To appreciate soccer you need to appreciate more than the act of actually scoring. There is a beauty to defense.

Scoring is rare and, thus, much appreciated.

Sunday it is Spain and the Netherlands. My best.

"Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city

All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head

But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright

And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city

Cool town, evening in the city
Dressing so fine and looking so pretty
Cool cat, looking for a kitty
Gonna look in every corner of the city
Till I'm wheezing like a bus stop
Running up the stairs, gonna meet you on the rooftop "

Happy Fourth of July, everyone.

Last night walking through Times Square to meet my family for Manhattan dinner. BB before Bar-B-Que.

World Cup Saturday. Did any of you see the Dutch double header form the corner kick? Amazing goal yesterday.

Four day weekend ahead. All my best.

My apologies for not posting or visiting. BB tonight on the evening subway - 5th Avenue station on a beautiful summer night with kind temperature and low humidity. This is just how it came out of the BB.

iMac and art not mixing yet - little time.

World cup.....work, wife, life, and kids.

Been listening to soul music - Aretha and Otis and the Supremes.
