"egret.grass"

Sue sent two pics - this simple treatment of part of one jumped of the page to me. Almost Sue's vision, modified....

It is too simple, too fast for me to take any credit. Logical? Should art be real hard?

I love what you have done with Sue's image and also love that you knew when you were done.

Sorry I'm behind in the comments again. It's likely to be like this for awhile. Did anyone miss me?

meme is me me, clever isn't it?

Keep making art, 'cause I love what you are doing.

Beautiful..Easy to be hard. Relax enjoy the gift.

I can't stand it when something is beautiful when I've hardly done anything to it. I always feel that more effort should have gone into it.

This image is good as it is. Although I am sure that given the time and inspiration, you will do more with it.

Why are there so many egrets running around the Internet lately? Has there been a population explosion?

For me, this is a Bambi egret coming out of the forest. He looks quite alone, and I hope no harm will befall him. Beautiful, but haunting.

Ah, a nice change of pace.
And no, art is not hard, neither should it be.
But... (if you don't want my opinion, stop reading right here)
You're right, this image is too simple. It needs something more. What is up to you - I say explore the feeling that it is eliciting in you, I have the impression that you stopped yourself short from making this image too personal. Then again, I do tend to over-analyse, so don't mind me. But if you're not satisfied, find out why - and don't be afraid to take this piece further. You don't have to show us - do it for yourself, see where you will go with it.

I think this is wonderful! No I don't think art must be hard or time consuming. Some photos of mine come about after a quick point, click, maybe a crop and post. Does it make them less valuable? I don't think so. Sometimes for me a quick result is the sign of a good art day...a painting or collage that just works straight away makes me think I am in tune with myself. So take credit for your own cleverness :)

Bobbie, you are missed - your art, spirit, kindness.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

Been listening to lovesong playlists on my ipod for two days and feel the love...right now it is Bette Midler "Superman" from her first album. I also loved again Donovan's "Catch the Wind." Simple and effective and gentle.

I used to argue with a friend of mine who was a recipient of the NEA award about suffering and art. My take? life's too short to agonize with guilt. A quick sketch artist(e), so what?!! Most my collages are done in less than 10 minutes flat without even breaking a sweat (and I am not bragging either..Enjoy it, my friend)

10 minutes - but you think about it beforehand somehow, right, a lot of the time?
