"rose.hips.soon"

This started with sunflowers, moved to geometry and finally was iced with botched scanned image "chicken scratches." Here is a botched slice of life:

Great to be reminded that it will be rosehips soon, with their dash of vivid colour to liven things up. I also like the chicken scratches. Also life-affirming. We have had a lot of TV progammes recently in England about the conditions in which chickens are kept, and these chickens are obviously free-range and free to express their natural behaviours, so this is what it brings to mind for me (forgive me). This is a very original and clever way of describing this particular effect. Enjoyed these pictures.

and what wonderful botched slices of life they are. I really enjoying visiting here.

I love this new (?) direction: loose, fresh, fearless!

Did you know that in the Netherlands we make jam out of rose hips? It is very good, almost as good as your picture, which I would like to hang on my wall in my imaginary art gallery. I have work by Trijnie there also. Chicken scratches are okay, as long as they are not done too aggressively and within the boundaries of good taste. Other than that, almost anything is acceptable, except for cow dung, which smells too unpleasantly.

You are changing something deep in your work. Though I've only seen it a short time, it looks like you are breaking through to another level. I like how you call them botched, and I never think of them that way.

The green sunflower piece has a quality of water, a wavy and also calming sea of green.

Very nice, John. Lots of energy to look at here!

I love your colours. I especially like the bottom photo with the face. That sunflower photo is great too. hehe. Seriously, I love the way you give things a new lift. A whole new story. The way I can't wait to see what you've done next. I had to go awol with the comments for a few days due to a tooth that decided to abcess and then come out in rather expensive pieces..I loved your i.pod i.hurt i.am.
I.sympathise. with you.
I enjoy these collaborations and seeing what you have done with our base images. I am seeing more bottom lefts these days too!

wish I could talk and tell as the others but I takes so much time to use a diction.
Just want to tell you: it gives me a lot of pleasure to see your work and I am always looking forward for you comments on my blog.
Have a nice weekend with a lot of lovely birds to see ;)

Hi John,

This is a great series ... I am not always sure of your order ... but I love that one on the bottom ... with the combo of realism and abstraction.
