Sue provided a larger file of the photo below. It appears to be a California sunrise. Sue might be able to describe it better in a comment.

I made a couple of versions, the last is below:

Sue will work with my images and create her art. Looking forward to her post will mine. Since we had decided to collaborate starting with her photos, I went back quite a way on her blog to find her original photographs. What I saw was page after pages of glistening pearls....a truly impressive body posted, Sue.

Here are the two earlier drafts:

My personal fave is the first draft. I like the movement depicted here and the color amber, tonal gray and black. Fantastic.

Great collaboration. I didn't even know that Sue had ordinary photographs on her weblog. It does give you lots of material to work with, something I am always running short off myself.

I will probably be borrowing again from you shortly, unless Eduard gets out and about with his camera, although there may be things in the apartment that are colorful and detailed enough to take photographs off. Then there is always stealing things off Google images.

I like the top image the best, by the way.

actually the photograph was taken around 3 in the afternoon on a thursday, pending rainstorm which broke on friday. i love clouds. i like all three of your versions...seems like rains' progression from gray to darkly ominous to resulting spring green. you remember.

Very cool!

They sort of remind me of effects you used to be only able to do of a panoramic vista by putting photographs side and side. The digital effect is truly magical, and you have got an instant sunrise. You are surely exploiting its potential, which seems to be almost limitless.

Hi John, thanks for checking out my blog. Wouldn't mind you using my photo, would like to see what you make of it.
I love the top one best in this post!
See you soon. :-)

John, the pieces you create are so musical. I think of sampled music, musicians and dj's who cull from others and create a whole new form. Your work is rhythmic and fascinating, and I like it very much. Sue's photo is beautiful, and what you have done with it amazes me. Love the finished piece!
