"m.p.3.fortune"

F5 snapshot from here - here. Looks dark and gloomy small.

Is this invasion, theft? Am I an information superhighway bandito?

Pocket picked:

There is no commercial intent in this snapshot. Lovely collages and art work at this site and I do miss Californian sensibilities.

How I ended up in New York "so long term" is a mystery (not misery- type accurately, John). OK, I got married here, bought the house here and my kids all have NY accents. I am the only person in my house that can pronounce "water."

Fun post with fun images, John. We all end up in unexpected places, don't we?

I imagine you as Henry Higgins coaching Eliza Doolittle through her pronunciation of the English language.

Being from the Midwest, I have often been told I am easy to understand. That middle of the country accent seems clearer to some folks. I don't know...though I have been in New York and not been able to understand a word some people said.

I don't think you are an internet superhighway pirate. I like seeing something transformed so radically. It's a lovely comment on life in general. :)

Though if you were, what would your pirate name be: Captain Pixel?

No worries, John- thanks for asking. You miss CA? ! for the warmth, right? I'm a native New Yorker through and through and love it. Let's trade places. HA
Thanks again for the kind words.

Strange how we wind up. I never in my life thought I'd be living in Texas, but I've lived here longer than I ever lived at "home" in New Mexico. I've been in Texas since 1976 I think. Now I have a passel of grandkids all saying yee-haw! I think you make a very good internet bandito :)

So how does everyone say water?
I like the screen shot with the words and colours. Looks like a snake skin at first!

You are the politest bandit ever BTW.

Thanks, everyone, for your time and comments...

"I'm thursty, may I have a glass of waaaaahtaaa."

Long Island, where I live, is pronounced "longeisland."

I, from California, speak like they do on American TV. No accent, which is an accent I guess.

I do love New York - not to bum anyone out, but on 911 I found no instance of people trampling each other to get out of burning building. We get "on line," walk and deal well with horrible crowds.

Everywhere else they say "in line" but in NYC ity is "on line" - we predicted the internet maybe 50 years ago while waiting ten minutes to buy a subway token.

you mean you don't still have a cuban accent? i have to readjust your voice in my head?
i used to talk with folks from the east coast for a job i used to have...i swear to god it was like talking to a different planet most of the time...
im relieved to know you still retain california sensibilities (which are really mostly transplanted from elsewhere anyway, i think)

ps i think its an honor the way you capture work as you do and transform it. i love the concept of collaboration. digital lends itself to that so well.

Thanks, Sue, my first crack at one of Irene's Mandalas indicateds they are hard to work with because already so defined - little "found object" capabilities - part of reason I have not poached from you.

I need to think about how to work with Mandalas - your latest purple one is serene, powerful and beautiful. A truly great purple - has profound almost religious qualities.

No, I have no Cuban accent - when I got to the USA in third grade I tried to blend in - my real name was "Mariano Juan Bienvenido"....
and I changed it to John Mariano - a conforming mistake of youth and it is too late now.

I got into Cuban music as an adult. I am also one of few Cubans that never lived in Miami. I did not go to South Florida until the mid 1980s when Miami Beach was still a slum.
