I can see the dragon.fly in here. The metalic colors, the streaks of light and occasional flitter. I didn't explain earlier why I have to wait to hear music on my computer. My cats chewed my speaker cables in half, twice. My old computer is so old that I decided to not replace. After all it is an original pentium which has been upgraded it's last time. I've got a spanking new Dell sitting her e beside me waiting for photoshop cs3 to arrive in the mail. It is supposed to come on Tuesday :)

Have a great day, John!

Bobbie, you mentioned a dragonfly recently and you and got me thinking. It will be wonderful when that Dell arrives.

Diane and Sue, I am glad you like it - the image primarily is a strip of surf - the ocean on the afternoon before a Fourth of July fireworks display. It was quick and dirty (inverted, tie dyed, scratched and sniffed over).

Most of the pics I have are of my kids - the surf here was behind my daughter. Need to get out more.

Sue, enjoy your exploration - it is great to colloborate with you. Your Mandalas are wondrous.

I think you have captured the movement and iridescent colours of the dragonfly. In flight would look a bit like this - a flash of metallic green. Great picture.

An apt name. Love these colours and the energy of this piece!
My photo editor has decided to go on strike today but as soon as it's behaving again I will post something for you...

Bev, I always smile when I see your posts - perceptive and civil. May Britain again rule the high seas and encyclopedias.

Seu, dragonflies live most of their lives as underwater nymphs where they are as deadly, size for size, as any cruel bandit.

I love this piece, and I can see the dragonfly too. Nice color, John, the green is awesome.

For years I have been aware that when I needed to lighten up, a dragonfly would show up, just to remind me. Of course, when I lived in Chicago, they didn't do this in winter. Still, I can't count the number of times I'd be sitting in some funk and a dragonfly would fly by as if to say, "Hey you! Laugh! It's funny!"

I see the colors of the dragon fly, but I don't see the actual dragon fly itself. I hope this doesn't mean that my brain is short circuiting.

The metallic green is lovely. It looks like the tarnished copper of a tea kettle or a church spire.
Your randomly chosen letters are like the buzzing sound of its wings.

We used to chase dragon flies by the pond when I was a kid, but they were too fast for us, hovering and then suddenly shooting away.

A dragon fly is called a "libelle" in Dutch.
