Bit of Long Island shore and a bit of a mat, recycled again.

The weaving, its really in keeping with the tatami.
I feel you have an understanding and affinity with the tatami mat, surface. I've never seen anyone else 'dare' to paint and collage on it's surface, and yet you do it with such beauty and elegance. And the wonderful part is you can leave the woven straw mat itself untouched. While giving glimpses into the magic it inspires.

I love this recycled series for it's color, texture and distressed, composition.
