Tuesday commute - I am exploring working with harsher light and in less well lit areas at Penn.

Yesterday when leaving the house for the train we had a yellow bellied sapsucker in a tree near the car low. It was a beautiful male and a great start to the commute.

Hump day - I think they light the Rockefeller tree tonight, a few blocks form my office. Zoo setting.

You are so very lucky to have witnessed the Yellow Belly Sapsucker. It must have taken your breath away; it would have mine.

Somehow this year the birds have not shown up at the bird feeders as in years before. I have no idea why.
