"twenty.eight"
"On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...."
Something "old and something blue" from the root cellar on a day when we, I, clean up after family gathering. Little time for artistic endeavours....
I got a Neil Young CD for Christmas ("Sugar Mountain - Live At Canterbury House 1968 ") - a concert Neil did right after quiting Buffalo Springfield at the start of his solo career. I have not been able to play it yet but have great reviews.
The other album Santa Amazon brought me was a remastered Dire Straits "Making Movies." This Dire Straits record and Bob Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks" where the first CDs I ever bought back when there might have been two hundred titles available.
Marie and I plan to take the family to Manhattan this week - see the Rockefeller tree, do some shopping and also go to MOMA and show the Van Gogh exhibit to my children. Rainy today, but warm.
Hope all are well and enjoying peace at the end of a long productive year.

"en.ter"
Hidden is a picture from Japan. Here is a link to the sampled photos.
Joanne has a thoughtful blog about her life and her family in southern Japan. She mixes photos, poetry and observations in a kind, candid, open manner that is refreshing and enlightening. I enjoy communicating with artists and am intrigued by Japan.
More to come about other artists I have found, sometime someday somehow..
I am a man of few words....dis.honestly.

"buy.george"
I helped my oldest son, Greg, last week do a poster of revolutionary war battles - we found a portrait of George Washington and as I was deleting the old pics the other night I decided to play with the portrait....
For Andrea, who has been missed, on demand like a cable TV movie:
"south.west"
Wow, only one red state....

"tenni.s"
Old schoolyard photo, altered.
If you want to see some amazing oil paintings and original portraits go north by north east.
From Pierre's artist profile:
"I always been challenged and inspired by new ideas and new ways of living, so if I can describe my work as photorealist, I intend to let it evolve to another level."
Simply amazing work. Stunning command of his media. Great stuff and comparable sensibilities
Good music links, too. Please visit.

"the.united.states"
I looked a the image in the post directly below and the picture looks like a map of our nation .
An unforeseen tribute to Jasper Johns.
I am challenged by the larger size file - less proficient in developing compositional elements that pop off the page. Big pics are staid and eye movement reduced. It is inward versus outward - more tricks when an image more "garish" or grand - electricity makes it an easier whitewash.
More close-ups, nmow named after regions.

"micro.waved.paper.dolls"
This image started with a picture of Santa, since banished to the the N. Pole .....an internet pop up sampled.
It portrays man's inhumanity to pixels.
Use of letters is cheap compositional element - no time for slow cooking - consider this a half burned burger sans fries.
OK - micro.waved

"twenty.sum"
"detail"
Sampled off a Joanne find - a mat with a number - twenty. There are hints of the metal ring... "a tatami on a 20 ." File size of top image is reduced to display here.

"blood.and.flamingos"
"detail"
More than twelve years ago Marie and I saw a flock of about thirty flamingos in the Everglades - we had to walk two miles on a shady damp dirt road flanked by salt water canals and endlessly hounded by thousands of mosquitoes and in the end there were all these wild flamingos from the Caribbean - wading and eating and a few flying.
"or.chards"
Sampling made in part from Frances image of a bowl of fruit. Elements from a recent image in the basement also added.
I had added a very faint pink version of the above to pan.cakes. Maybe it will be removed from there.
Very cold for the first time this season - windy and horridly frigid. Gloves and chap stick weather.
It's beginning to feel a lot like February....

"one.morning's.light"
This is a slighly reworked image of one posted on Thanksgiving morning in the basement. It uses Bev's snow scene, again.
The basement version has more disruption bewtween the window panes - in this one the vegetation flows "better." Not sure which I like "better. " I do know I like beer.
Much of my good work involves the use of trees, it seems.
organic.origami
The antibiotics are working - I am coughing less and less and less. My best.
