"ris.ing"

Smaller version of larger image. I continue to experimenting with larger file size so able to enlarge larger. Paint.net, again.

Lisa sunny sunset. Mad red sky toned and morphed. A bit minimal. OK, very minimal. A study never destined to have syrup. Not even melted butter.

Oh, but I think this is wonderful and definitely worthy of syrup, sir! We could hang this in our wonderful museum here and draw a crowd. You do short shrift yourself.

OK John...
the minimalist aspects are very powerful...
the dash of red with a lilac sea and a golden sunset....
add the cloud snippets and it's yummily perfect :)

I've been mullling over this one for awhile. I've liked it from day one but I wanted it to tell me a story.

This is what I interpret.

The name of the piece, "ris.ing" from the ashes, fire below, twin towers, a sliver of moon, new beginnings.

Nicely done.

Thank you for your comments. I did not see the twin tower allusion until you pointed it out, Andrea. Now i see it and even the smoldering fire beneath the ground.

I have never gone to Ground Zero. Last September I was half a block away when we brought in the family to south Manhattan. The intent was to go to go to the Staute of Liberty but we shared that thought with fifty thousand tourists.

I keep coming back to visit.

Gerard and I stepped out from the WTC-Path station 2003 and we were immediately brought to tears, we then walked over to St. Paul's church where they had the most beautiful memorial.

Too much to comprehend.

I had too many family members caught up in this mess, Sept.11, 2001. Grateful.

This became a pancake - in part because its subtle and has eyes pointed to the futujre. Thank you, for your kind comments.
