Penn Station at 1:00 AM Saturday morning and then the Babylon line home. My son gets nervous when I take BB photos so for the most part I did not do it that evening. He fell asleep on the train and I took a few LIRR shots all from a sitting position. A fairly drunk crowd at two AM.

During the concert I took a two minute video with my BB during "Born to Run". Now suddenly the BB zoom unfortunately works again. The close up is an accidental zoom shot. BB zoom merely means the BB crops to the middle. Horrible zoom zoom.

By coincidence, Springsteen had a short lived band named "Dr. Zoom and the Sonic Boom." It was the band that bridged the gap between Bruce's first band, "Steel Mill," and the "Bruce Springsteen Band," the latter being the band on his first album before it was fine tuned into the "E Street Band" on Springsteen's second album. I have one bootleg recording a a Dr. Zoom show and it is not very good.

Here are shots of the Stadium before and after the show.

Here is a link to one of my favorite Springsteen boots. It has a earlier version of "Thunder Road" named "Wings For Wheels" with less fined tuned lyrics and an incomplete chorus.

Now the season's over and i feel it getting cold
I wish i could take you to some sandy beach where we'd never grow old
Ah but baby you know that's just jive
But tonight's bustin' open and i'm alive
Oh do (baby) whay you can to make me feel like a man
But this 4/4/2's gonna overheat
Make up your mind girl, i gotta get her back out on the street
I know you're lonely like me, oh so don't fake it
And maybe i can't lay the stars at your feet
But i got this old car and she's pretty tough to beat
There's plenty of room in my front seat
Oh if you think you can make it, climb in (so christine climb in)
This is town full of losers and baby i was born to win.

Out of the mouths of babes ... I'd be interested to hear your son's reasons for not liking the fact that you take photographs the way that you do.

When you are thirteen, few things your dad does are "cool" and the thought of my getting caught and yelled at would embarrass him.

There is a level of comformity that he will need to overcome at his own pace.

I'd like whatever she's having. Girl film at 6 down. Can someone look this euphoric sitting on a train? Hmmm...

Last Bruce Springsteen concert for me was at Denver's Mile High Stadium with my younger sis. Like Lucy and Ethel we flirted and coerced our way to the front, only to be dragged out and sent packing back to the nosebleed section. Oh good times!!

I don't remember Dr. Zoom, maybe that's a good thing.

I think it is interesting that your son would get embarrassed if you got caught taking a picture-- when I think back to all times I went out with my now grown up artist son-- who used to dress up in the most outrageous outfits from 4 years old up to 7th grade ending with trying to look like Johnny Rotten and the Sex Pistols..
