"one.study"

"two.study"

Sampling of European countryside picture, forget where I found the image a while back. These are fairly removed. I think it might be the French countryside.

First day of Spring is next week and I cannot wait for warmer weather, flowers and springtime birds. This weekend a large plant nursery has their annual plant show - we usually go. It is surrealistic to see plantings where sunflowers, tulips, roses and hydrangeas are all in peak bloom simultaneously.

I especially like the first one, which is even more awesome when enlarged, so imagine it even bigger. I think all your work needs to be seen wall sized, John, because of the enormous amount of details in it. You just want to be awestruck by it, kind of punched down flat by the impact of it.

I bet that plant show is really something after we've all been deprived of such color and blossoms. I'd definitely go, especially to see the sunflowers, which were my grandfather's specialty and he grew them as tall as his house.

Ah, nostalgia. Was I little and his house big, or was his house little and were the sunflowers tall?

There was also a blooming cherry blossom tree in the front yard. I remember that well.

Too bad we can't time travel.

I'm glad your winter is nearly over John...
this work has an air of wistfulness...the dying winter ...
enjoy your garden show...this weekend ..
I have been lucky to plant some basil ...chillies and tomatoes recently ...and they are flourishing despite my lack of gardening skills...and the arrival of autumn :)

Both of these are stunning. I can't decide which I like best. Better send me both!

I love clicking on your work. What is beautiful small is even more so larger. So many things for the eyes to enjoy and linger upon.

Through Venetian (French) blinds,
march-ing towards spring.

I can see the light from three daffodils through the glare.

Happy opening of the blossoms, one, two, or many at a time.
