In the beginning I created the heavens and the earth, the moon and the stars, the golden beaches and the grassy banks, and then someone went and put a fence there.
Interesting contrast of the natural and the manmade though in this photo.

Your beach photos bring back fond memories of the East coast. Eastern U.S. and Western U.S. beaches and their surroundings are very different. Great beauty in both.
I have never been to the East Coast, but your photographs make me very curious about it. Do the fences have a special purpose, other than keeping people out (or in)? I see they are easily flattened and don't seem very adequate to do the job. It must be some tradition that keeps making people put up this kind. They certainly make gratifying objects to photograph, especially the flattened one.
The fences keep people off the dunes so the beach grass grows and the grass helps maintian the beach when there are srong winds and storms.
A lot of money is spent keeping beaches "sandy."
Wild life such as terns (birds) can also nest in the dunes of people keep out....
