"bou.quet"

Details along the way south:

Contiunued play....

"past.sun.set"

Crocuses as March nears its end. April is always glorious in New York, a month of rejuvenation and of benign fresh sweet promises unfurled.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. There are not atheists in blog foxholes, are there. Have a great weekend.

"near.crocuses"

The bright spot of chilly weather is that the crocuses have lasted, fresh and jubilant, a longer time. Tonight heavy rain and tomorrow warmer weather. Someday lilacs.

"once.warmer"

Not much time lately and here is what I have been shaking up in the blender...not likely to be a pan.cake...

Details of a slightly earlier draft, below.

Still so cold here. Wearing layers everyday and almost need gloves. Last Friday there was a strong flurry as I stood on the train platform and I faced into the wind allowing the flakes (that were coming at me almost sideways) bathe me - accepting the last gasps of a nasty winter.

Alas, the cold curtain did not come down after my symbolic gesture.

Hope all of you are well. Thanks for dropping by....

"a.field.of.snipe"

Additional exploration of images in last post. Added fragments of a dusk deep blue sky and overlays.

Have less time to experiment these days - these are quick studies using small file sizes.

Snipe are marvellous relatively uncommon marsh preferring shorebirds. Every time that I have seen this gregarious species it has been in beautiful quiet fresh water wetlands, far from even sparsely populated suburbia.

"one.study"

"two.study"

Sampling of European countryside picture, forget where I found the image a while back. These are fairly removed. I think it might be the French countryside.

First day of Spring is next week and I cannot wait for warmer weather, flowers and springtime birds. This weekend a large plant nursery has their annual plant show - we usually go. It is surrealistic to see plantings where sunflowers, tulips, roses and hydrangeas are all in peak bloom simultaneously.

"near.home"

Back to the New Zealand Future.

My first daffodil today. Another will open tomorrow but I am weeks form the true push of Spring. Saint Patrick's Day parade is a week off. A great day in Manhattan, very happy celebration. Much less rowdy than ten years ago, though.

"france.is"

Continued play with Frances' beach. This one includes a dash of a Lexi waxy image for colour and texture.

"detail"

Lisa's house sparrows, morphed. The garbled text is an excerpt fropm a book regarding the Rolling Stones around the time they recorded "Exile on Main Street." A period of debauchery and other excesses.
