Saturday afternoon at the beach - windy then rain then a lovely evening with fireworks and much smaller crowds due to the rainfall. Kids had fun.
The beach is the one place I frequent where it is approved/accepted to lay there and completely relax for hours. You cannot do the same level of inactivity at a pool or lake.

I've been to the seaside too this weekend and it looked a bit like the top photo, white cliffs and blue sky.
I can smell the salt air. I'm glad to hear you got to relax and enjoy the day.

those photos are lovely. great textures and swathes of colour, almost like your paintings. intriguing squares and swirls of water/sand. the quilts look hand painted, are they? New swashy look.
Top photos are of the inside of lifeguard boat - rust is good thing for me.

Maybe that's what beached whales do, they just want to lie around for a while but then get stuck and can't get unstuck without out help. It does show interaction between species. You have some interesting beach towels. Kind of sandy looking. Did you get sand up your swimming trunks too? Did your mommy hose it all out for you? So, how burned did you get, or does your Cuban skin just take on a golden hue? Inquiring minds want to know. Do you were a speedo?
The beach towels are the inside of a boat, Irene. Not cotton.
I did not wear bathing trunks that day, just shorts. Clear sign that I did not intend to get wet.
No sand anywhere other than my shoes.
I do not have a speedo. I would be arrested.

I like the light in the lower two, low light on the sand and the pinkiness of everything reflected. time to go home?
