This reminds me of organic apartment buildings that one may have seen in Ecotopia, although I don't know where all the fleshiness comes in. Stray body parts? The blending of the self and the material?
This statrted out with a Kim photograph but it has been much layered.
The oddests story for Ike hurricane is an adult lion that rode out the hurricane in a church with a bunch of people on Galveston Island. Owner of the lion apparently had not been in that church in thirty years.
They now say there is a tiger loose in Galveston Island...
One of my favorite birdding spots is High Island near Houston - it was flattened by this hurricane.
The place was paradise in Spring. Migrating birds flew all night from Mexico and landed there exhausted in the morning. Certain days it looked like a Christmas card - a small conifer covered with colorful birds.
