Penn landscapes and one subway - Friday morning commute. Portrait mode shots are much easier to visualize and compose - mostly you fill the frame. Landscapes are less about seeing than feeling - certainly when taken on the move.
Also it is interesting how different some landscape shots look on the BB screen versus on a monitor. I constantly get sucked back into portrait mode. It is seductive, immediate. Easier.
How much of your creating art involves breaking habits, or maybe acknowledging them?
One MoMA landscape.
I have been going to MoMA a lot - I can tell the day when a painting is changed. I have never frequented a museum this often regularly and there is an intimacy.

Your subway shots seem more frenzied and busy-- the back lighting is striking but lends to the frenzy effect. It is obvious people are moving and hurried. Your MOMA shots are quiet, stilled, more minimal.I try to break the rules all the time, especially if I find myself repeating something too much.
I like your landscape shots and I'm glad your taking them. I like all the excitement in them. I hope you keep practicing for a while and find your comfort zone with them. I like the larger outlook and how much they encompass. there's more to worry about and more for us to take in. That's fun! All the movement is fantastic and better in a larger scope.
